The California Sneaker Museum
James Moore, Founder and Chief Curator, created the museum with nothing but his love for sneakers. “I’ve always liked history, but history is limited unless we make it meaningful for today" (Claude Johnson).
This museum is dedicated to researching, preserving, promoting, and teaching about the evolution of the sneaker from the early days of rubber plantations in Brazil.
The museum has been featured in such major media outlets as Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Business Journal, The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Arc Mid-Cities News Letter, Associated Press, KCAL9 Los Angeles "Biggest Lakers Fan" and Bounce Magazine-On-Line July 3, 2008.
Since forming the museum in 2002, Moore’s extensive scholarly research and tireless passion for the subject has earned him recognition throughout the sneaker community.
James has a B.A Degree, Sociology from the University of Hawaii (Manoa) and has worked in the field of Social Service for more than 20 years.
